Real Estate Workshops

Are your rural clients concerned about their water quality?  Are you noticing more urban dwellers moving to the country? Do they have questions about water wells and septic systems? Would your members like to build the background knowledge needed to discuss rural water and wastewater issues knowledgeably with their clients?

The Ontario Rural Wastewater Centre offers two workshops addressing private on-site wastewater treatment systems and rural wells and water treatment systems.  Each workshop is three hours in duration. Over the past 10 years, we have been successfully offered both seminars for many real estate boards across Ontario including London & St. Thomas; Oakville; Milton & District; Orangeville & District; Georgian Triangle Real Estate Board and the Woodstock-Ingersoll Real Estate Board.  Each of the seminars has been approved by these boards for three hours of OREA continuing education requirements.

Our instructors are knowledgeable about rural environmental issues and have been active in the on-site wastewater industry for a number of years.  Douglas Joy, P. Eng., is a Water Resources Engineering Professor at the University of Guelph and has over 25 years of teaching experience.  Katherine Rentsch, P. Eng., has over 10 years of experience in the on-site industry, including teaching dozens of on-site wastewater workshops over the past six years. Terry Davidson, P.Eng., is the Director of the Ottawa Septic System Office with 25 years experience in the regulatory environment.

Workshops can be hosted at our locations in Guelph or Ottawa or at a location of your choosing. Please contact us to make arrangements.
